Committees: How We Make Democracy Work…
Volunteers are needed in many ways. We'd love your help on any of our committees. Use the contact form to get connected and learn more!

Voter Services. Increases voter access and participation through activities such as providing voter education, facilitating candidate forums, assisting with Naturalization Ceremonies, serving as poll watchers, and holding voter registration events.   Meets monthly as needed.

Local Government Observers (LOGO). Members attend local government meetings in order to monitor the activities, budgets, and transparency of government entities. By attending these meetings, Observers are also able to identify potential study topics, recommend action on local issues to the LWVGP board, and provide information for the newsletter and other communications.  Meets monthly as needed. * Training is required, and is provided by LWVIL.*

Drinks & Dialogue. Coordinates the monthly discussion of local, state, and national topics relating league positions. Drinks & Dialogue is on third Wednesday.

Membership. Retains and increases a diverse membership and participation through membership events, hospitality activities, and communication materials. This includes attending all LWVGP events to share information and sign up new members, conducting new member orientation, and contributing to Communications Committee strategies to engage new members. Meets monthly as needed.

Climate Change. Is working to identify and monitor how units of local government are addressing climate change, and communicating that information to constituents. Actively seeking members!

Communications. Committee members serve as webmaster, Voter newsletter editor, and social media coordinator. This committee is currently developing a new Communications Strategy to elevate LWVGP as a respected source of local news, engage the community, and build our membership base. Actively seeking members with passion and skill for marketing, writing, and editing. Meets monthly as needed.

Additional committees. Some committees are formed temporarily as needs arise such as Study Committees and Action Committees.
