Winning the Right to Vote Celebration

Picture
The League of Women Voters of Greater Peoria, in collaboration with the Peoria Historical Society, the Peoria Public Library, and the Peoria Riverfront Museum, is planning Winning the Right to Vote Celebration that marks the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the US Constitution.

In June, 2021, we will host Elaine Weiss, author of The Woman's Hour: The Great Fight to Win the Vote at the Peoria Riverfront Museum for a lecture, book signing, and cocktail party.

Additionally, there are many other activities planned through the community to mark this important anniversary for our nation and women. They include such things as films and lectures, a concert, curated displays at both the Museum and the Library and much, much more.

Watch this space for more information and details of all events and activities.  We are currently seeking sponsorships to support this celebration.  See the attached sponsorship form for more information
